I hear what your saying, there is this kid on YouTube who started playing at about 10 1/2 or 11 and this kid is 15 now his name is Chris Alcala and this kid is already writing and selling his own music and is really good music. Bottomline we need to need to find what made us fall in love with guitar and get back to it.

As yet another middle-aged would-be guitarist, I was gladdened to find your blog. I did start when I was 13 or 14 (see http://fencer.wordpress.com/2009/06/18/manchild-with-guitar/), and then gave it up due to lack of talent and encouragement. But I'm really enjoying taking it up again... it's starting to become like a boyish obsession once more.
